Features

  • Rackable with loads up to 2,000 pounds
  • Great for heavy-column stacked loads, like batteries
  • Provides containment if necessary; otherwise holes for drainage
  • Lightweight - under 40 pounds, easy to handle, reducing risk of injury
  • Nestable - empty pallets can nest reducing storage and transportation costs
  • Stackable - nestable pallets can be stacked when empty and still have side forklift access
  • 4-Way Entry - for easy access
  • Cargo Lip - prevents goods from shifting during transport and handling
  • Maintenance Free - nestable pallets are one-piece construction to eliminate maintenance costs
  • Durable - customers have used the same Hampel nestable pallets for more than 10 years
  • Recyclable - nestable pallets are manufactured of high-density polyethylene and are easily recyclable
  • Nine-leg or interlocking-leg configurations available

SteelSpan is a process unique to Hampel worldwide! It is "in the press" encapsulation of a specialized steel wire formed into a single sheet of plastic. The resulting synergistic marriage of steel and plastic provides a structural member with the tensile and compressive strengths of steel on the edges of the structural shape at little more than the weight of the plastic which provides the web of the shape. The total encapsulation of the steel in a SteelSpan pallet imparts structural strength for both lifting and racking.
Hampel's 45x48 SteelSpan pallet is capable of straddling an open rack with a 2,000-pound load indefinitely, yet it weighs only 26 pounds, well below the 40-pound ergonomic guideline. Nonreinforced pallets might hold a racked load for a few minutes or hours, but ultimately the creep properties of plastic, especially polyethylene, will allow the pallet to deform under load, and it will eventually fall through the rack. Mechanically fastened reinforcements are only good in one direction - either on the rack or on the forks - because of the weakness of the fasteners. Twinsheet pallets with enclosed steel reinforcements perform well but are considerably heavier and much more expensive.
SteelSpan Pallets handle heavy-column stacked loads (like batteries or castings) that conventional plastic pallets are unable to hold. When heavy-column stacked loads on a conventional pallet are picked up by a lift truck, the product outside the forks will deflect causing the product to tip and fall. Hampel's SteelSpan eliminates that problem. SteelSpan Pallets also solve the problem of stacking multiple packs or loads by providing a rigid interface between the product and the pallet legs. Conventional plastic pallets often deform under the pressure points that are created when columns of product are stacked on small areas.

Hampel's plastic nestable pallets including SteelSpan are engineered and manufactured for durability and strength to withstand rough and repetitive use, yet are lightweight and user-friendly. Longevity makes Hampel plastic nestable pallets ideal for use in a distribution environment while bringing their operating cost to pennies per trip.

Hampel nestable pallets include a unique feature that allows stacking the pallet and still having fork tines access
