Interlocker® Roll Pack

Rugged, adjustable, returnable container for storing and shipping large heavy spools of roll stock

The Interlocker Roll Pack is a unique Hampel design style developed for storage and shipping of roll stock that is of varying lengths and diameters. Because of the unique way the load supports interlock with themselves and into the container, this pack is appropriately named Interlocker. In addition, the legs interlock when multiple packs are stacked.

Size and Weight Limits

Interlockers can be made any size up to 9' long by 5' wide, and each shell can be 3' high; total height 6'. Maximum roll stock dimensions 8' long by 5' diameter. aximum weight of contents 3,000 pounds. Maximum overall stack weight 9,000 pounds.

The weight of the product is borne by twin-sheet molded, encapsulated steel-reinforced load supports. The load supports are adjustable at requisite intervals depending on the variation in roll stock lengths. The load supports have saddles properly sized to engage the exposed core ends of the roll stock. The outer shells of the pack provide closure for the product and location for the load supports. There are openings on each end of the pack to facilitate removal of the roll stock. Contents can be handled using either fork truck or hoisting equipment.
Interlockers are viable and cost effective if present or planned disposable packaging costs for the product exceed $500,000 annually. Most projects have a payback in 6 to 18 months and are viable with as little as two product turns a year.
